2009-2010 Boys and Girls Power Rankings
We are privledged that Dr. Ed Feng has provided us the first ever Power Ranking for Knox County Basketball. The Power Ranking System is described by Dr. Feng on his website.
According to Dr. Feng: "The Power Rank algorithm is based on a simple idea. A team earns its rank on the field of play. There is no human bias, no memory of last season, and no style points. A team not only has a rank but also a value. The difference between the value of two teams estimates the score difference of a game at a neutral site. "
These are the final regular season Knox County Middle School power rankings, which used all 13 games played by every team. Rankings are shown for both the boys and the girls divisions. Many thanks to Dr. Ed Feng for donating his time for these analyses.

New: 2010 Hardin Valley Junior Hawks Competitive Basketball Teams
| General Information | Plans have been made to form a competitive youth basketball club in February 2010, for the Hardin Valley area. The club name will be the Hardin Valley Junior Hawks. The number of teams and age groups of teams to be formed will depend upon the response to this initial information release. This competitive program will be open to both boys and girls and individual try-outs will be conducted. Proposed age groups include 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. Most of the tournaments will be played locally (East TN), but some tournaments might require sub-regional travel to places like Atlanta, Louisville, or the Carolinas, depending upon the team skill level and parent preferences for travel. The competitive season will last from mid-February to early June, 2010, and regularly scheduled practices will occur. |
