ANNOUNCEMENTS
The 2008-2009 season will be the first ever for wrestling at Hardin Valley Academy. Come out and support the team as they challenge the state of Tennessee for individual, dual, and tradtional championships. Keep checking for updates and schedule changes.
Team Region: The Hawks will compete in Region 2 District 3 Large Schools for Dual wresting with Farragut, Hardin Valley, Karns, Knoxville Cenral, Knoxville Halls, Knoxville West, and Powell
Individual Region: The Hawks will compete in Region 2 for Individual wrestling with Alcoa, Austin-East, Bearden, Farragut, Gibbs, Greenback, Hardin Valley, Heritage, Karns, Kingston, Knoxville Catholic, Knoxville Central, Knoxville Fulton, Knoxville Halls, Knoxville West, Maryville, Pigeon Forge, Powell, Sevier County, Seymour, South-Doyle, Stone Memorial, Union County and William Blount.
Weight Management Certification
Team dates are 11/15 at Pigeon Forge 7:00 AM 11/22 at Karns 7:00 AM more dates TBA

Thursday Meeting Highlights
Team fee is $125 for those who did not play football or golf. For those that played a fall sport (football or golf) team fee is $125.
Physicals need to be turned in if you are not participating in a fall sport (football or golf).
Everyone must turn in an Emergency Medical form AND it must be NOTARIZED.
Turn in gear order forms made out to Kessler's.
Practice begins Monday October 27th. You must have paperwork turned in to participate.
PreSeason Conditioning today after school at the track.

Make sure you do conditioning on your own next week during fall break.
There will be a mandatory meeting on Friday 10/3/08 for anyone interested in wrestling for HVA. The meeting will be held in room A102 at 8:15AM. Eligibility requirements will be discuss along with other mandatory documents that will be require.
1984 -B.S Degree in Sports Management w/ an emphasis in Health and Physical Education from Slippery Rock University of PA.
1988 – Teaching Certification in Health and Physical Education from Old Dominion University.
Coaching:
1988 – 1993 Assistant Wrestling Coach Westminster High School Westminster, MD under the direction of Solomon Carr.
1994 – 1998 Head Wrestling Coach at Liberty High School Eldersburg, MD. Had successful winning seasons during my 5 year tenure. Coach an individual State Champion at the MD State Championships class 3A – 4A in1996 and also a 5th place finisher.
1999 – 2001. High School Wrestling Official in the state of MD.
2001 –2004. Head Wrestling Coach at Arnold High School Panama City Beach, FL. Responsible for starting a new wrestling program at the new county high school in Bay County, Fl. Had successful winning teams during my three years as the head coach. Coach a sixth place finisher at the FL State Championships class 1A-2A in 2003.
2008 – Present. Head Wrestling Coach at HVA.
Public Service:
1984 – Present. Chief Petty Officer/US Navy Diver in US Naval Reserves. My unit is called Deep Submergence Unitstationed in San Diego, CA. Recall to active duty for OIF Kuwait April 2006 – June 2007.
