Cost:The following cost is for each player and is used to cover such items as team and match tennis balls, ball hoppers, team shirts, shorts, and warm-ups, and Knox County athletic insurance.Any cost for transportation (state tournaments, etc) will be charged at a later date if necessary.
·$175/player.Payment must be in check or money-order form and made payable to Hardin Valley Academy Tennis Equipment: ·Players MUST have tennis shoes to prevent marking on the courts.Any player that doesn’t wear appropriate tennis shoes for practice or match play will not play or practice. oPrice varies depending on the quality of the shoe.Dick’s Sporting Goods has a good selection of relatively low cost shoes ($50) oIt is the individual player’s choice of what brand of shoe to wear. ·Racquet: oEach player must have his or her own racquet oRacquet price can vary depending on the quality of the racquet oIf you are new to tennis, I suggest paying no more than $100 for a racquet oRacquets can be purchased at various sporting goods stores and discount stores. Practice/Team Conditioning: ·Conditioning is not mandatory but highly recommended.Conditioning starts November 25. ·Conditioning will be Tuesday and Thursday until the end of the school year.After the first of the year it will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Times are 4:00pm-5:30pm. ·First mandatory practice is February 9, from 4:15pm till 6:00pm. ·Practice and some conditioning will be at Pellissippi State Recreational Center. oParents are responsible for transporting players to and from practice. oCarpooling is an option.However parents are liable when transporting players.
